David Lynch explains that he initially set out to start his Foundation to "ensure that every child anywhere in the world who wanted to learn to meditate could do so. Now, The (David Lynch) Foundation is actively teaching Transcendental Meditation to adults and children in countries everywhere."

The David Lynch Foundation has been successfully operating since 2005 and has already sponsored over 200,000 people to learn Transcendental Meditation.

As you can see from this video, the David Lynch Foundation has focussed primarily on those most at-risk including inner-city students, war veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), North American Indians who suffer from serious diabetes and cardiovascular disorders; homeless men aiming to overcome drug addiction, incarcerated individuals, sexually abused women and PTSD relief for Africans affected in war-torn nations.

Additionally the David Lynch Foundation also sponsors research programs to gauge the effectiveness of their programs. The results have been rather impressive with endorsements received from institutions such as Harvard, Stanford and Yale Medical Schools, American National Institutes of Health, General Motors Foundation, many school districts and state departments of corrections.
